Another day another game goes down. Let's find out what we know about the latest Fortnite outage

welcome to the Melloverse Fortnite skins Marsha Marshinobi

Bad news if you are trying to get into Fortnite as it seems the servers have just borked out. The official Fortnite Status Twitter account has acknowledged the issue and is offering no information at this stage as to what the problem is.

Update:

Epic has now tweeted that they have taken the servers offline while they investigate what’s going on.

Down Detector is showing a huge spike in reported errors highlighting that this is a major problem for the game. The problem seemed to have begun, in Europe at least around 9 PM GMT as you can see in the graph below. This follows the small wobble you will notice from around 12 hours ago, but that issue was nothing like what we are seeing at the moment.

Is Fortnite down?

It definitely seems for the tweet below that players are unable to log in, match make, or are being asked to update the game and then being unable to do so. Seemingly the issue is related to the server not accepting connections, but the reason for this at this time is unknown. I wonder if they have tried turning the server on and off again?

We're investigating an issue preventing players from connecting to Fortnite services including logging in, matchmaking, or being asked to update the game.

We'll provide more info when this is resolved and service has returned. pic.twitter.com/cfWn12MvBR

When will Fortnite be back online?

No news at this stage as to the severity of the problem. There were issues earlier that seem to be unrelated but it seems as though Epic is having a few problems with its Battle Royale today.

We're investigating reports that players are not seeing Haven's feathers or in-match Quest progress save after games.

We will keep an eye on this one and report back if there is any official word from Epic Games on how long we can expect the game to be out of action for.
