Vaults are unnamed locations in Fortnite consisting of treasure rooms concealed behind indestructible walls. During the past seasons of Chapter 2, players needed to obtain a Keycard to open a Vault. These Keycards were obtained by eliminating a specific location boss. Opening Vaults In Fortnite

To open Vaults in Fortnite Chapter 3, players must gather the correct number of entities in front of the door. The required amount is determined by the number of silhouettes displayed on the Vault’s scanner. For instance, a scanner showing two figures means that two players must stand in front of the Vault for it to open.

Alternatively, those playing solo can down a nearby Seven Sentry and carry them to the Vault’s scanner, which will cause it to open if the required number of entities is two. Oddly enough, this method also works when holding a chicken in Fortnite.

It should be mentioned that recently Fortnite fans have been running into issues unlocking Vaults. For many of the Vaults, the scanners have not been working, causing the doors to be locked indefinitely. While it is unknown if this is the cause of a bug or an intentional story-related change, players can still access one particular Vault in Command Cavern. Similar to the seasons of Chapter 2, players must defeat the Gunnar location boss to receive a card key. This card key can then be used to access the Vault and acquire its loot.

Fortnite is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
