Fortnite Update: Shop Brings Back Fourth of July Skins

The iconic Marvel hero, Captain America, and other skins are back with the new Fortnite update for the Item Shop as part of Fourth of July celebrations.

A new Fortnite update to the Item Shop dropped today as an old superhero skin is available again for July 4th. To kick off the Epic Games Fourth of July celebrations, Fortnite has added Marvel’s Captain America back into the Item Shop, along with other festive skins and perks. This would be a limited-time purchase, so get it while it is still out today to celebrate everything red, white and blue.

The first Avenger last donned the suit in the Fortnite update back in March 2021 and originally was available to buy in the Item Shop back in March 2020 during Chapter 2 Season 4. The skin pack is available for 2,000 V-Bucks and includes his Proto-Adamantium Shield as a back bling and harvesting tool, offering players 350 DPS and a 175-damage rate. Players could also grab a Grand Salute emote for 300 V-Bucks, featuring red, white and blue-coloured fireworks depicting Captain America’s iconic shield.

While the Fourth of July celebrates the independence of America and all its greatness, there have been mixed feelings about bringing back Steve Rogers’ Captain America. Fans have pointed how this could have been a good time to reinforcethe new Captain America era with Sam Wilson, as shown in the Disney+ series, The Falcon and Winter Soldier.

But Captain America is not the only thing back in the Item Shop, the NitroJerry skin is back from its Chapter 2 Season 7 debut. The complete bundle for this cosmetic set will not be available this time around but comes with the fizzle back bling and the victory royale-only short-fuse emote. Players can purchase this main bundle for 1,500 V-Bucks, as well as the Sparkleaxe, Boomer glider and the Roman Candle emote to complete the NitroJerry set for another 1,800 V-bucks.

The Fireworks Team Leader set has always been a July 4th exclusive since Season 1 Chapter 4. This set is currently available for 1,5000 V-Bucks. The Star-Spangled Trooper and Star-Spangled Ranger are also available to celebrate the Fourth of July for about 800 V-Bucks each.

The Fortnite update on July 2 also brought the new Kaws-inspired outfit to the Item Shop, which is an in-game variant of the beloved character Peely. The Kawspeely outfit includes the Kaws Companion Back Bling, Far From Home Glider and Ripe on Time Wrap. To commemorate this new outfit from the New York-based artist, the shop will have the Kaws Skeleton Outfit available again. It comes in four colours: Green, Pink, Bone-Colour and Orange.
