When does Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 start and what's new?

Leakers have been working day and night to uncover the new content for Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 and its launch this weekend.

Developer Epic Games has added to the excitement of Season 3 ending by posting a series of mysterious teasers and confirming that Season 4 will be titled Paradise.

However, other than these breadcrumbs posted on Fortnite’s official accounts, nothing else has been revealed officially – but that’s okay because leakers and dataminers have been able to fill in the blanks for us.

So, if you want to know more about Paradise, buckle up and prepare for what could be the biggest season of Fortnite so far.

When time does Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 start?

Epic Games has already announced that Fortnite Paradise will go live on Sunday, September 18 – although that info did leak out before they confirmed it.

The exact time that you’ll be able to download the update is still unknown, but as per usual there will be a brief period of server downtime when it’s crunch time.

Although there’s no official start time yet the servers usually switch off for the outgoing season at around 9am BST and last for around two to three hours. That means that Season 4 will probably start at around midday on Sunday.

What new character and cosmetics are coming to Fortnite Season 4?

One of the early leaks for Season 4 showed DC superhero Dreamer appearing in the shop, along with a Jiggle Jiggle emote.

Though they were both marked as Chapter 3 Season 4 items, Fortnite ended up releasing them during Season 3.

Dreamer was made available during the Rainbow Royale event, which seems much more fitting as she’s the first-ever trans character to join the game.

Shortly after that, fans also spotted that the Jiggle Jiggle emote was also released ahead of Season 4.

However, Marvel’s Spider-Gwen is still down to appear in next season’s battle pass, with Miles Morales also rumoured to appear later in the season.

Fortnite x Spider-Verse (Gwen) is in S4 Battle Pass. Which means Miles Morales comes later in the item shop 🔥

When the EU Nintendo Store accidentally shared a promo image for Season 4 too early, it seemed like Spider-Gwen was finally confirmed.

The image showed a hand reaching out of some sort of liquid metal, the same one that was featured in the teasers, which looked a lot like Spider-Gwen’s hand.

Some fans pointed out the hand might belong to The Paradigm, a member of the enigmatic group known as The Seven.

If that turns out to be true, then there’s a big chance that Brie Larson is hiding under The Paradigm’s mask, since many leaks, including Fortnite wiki, have been listing her as the character’s voice actor.

When all the teasers were revealed, it became more obvious that the hand likely belongs to The Paradigm, as a different image clearly showed Spider-Gwen.

As for the other two hands, there’s speculation that one belongs to Goth Meowscles and the other one to a mysterious hero that’ll be included in the new battle pass.

What else is new for Fortnite Season 4?

Although it’s not clear what exactly the theme of Season 4 is, it does seems as if vehicles are a big part of it, with the return of planes and motorcycles.

The game featured planes for the first time in Chapter 1, but players quickly started hating on them, especially after the fuel system was launched.

Many also complained it gave skilled players too much of an advantage, as they did too much damage and were hard to target from the ground.

All the leaked vehicles that haven’t came out yet (probably for S4):

– Planes – Updated recently.
– Motorcycles – Leaked early this season.
– New Mech – Leaked early this season.

– Leaked in Ch2S7 (probably scrapped): Rally Car, Party Van, Dune Buggy, City Bus, Sport Truck, HMV

Through a post on Twitter, leaker HYPEX also teased motorcycles as another addition to Season 4’s list of available vehicles – but fans don’t seem to hate them as much.

The same leaker also found that some vehicles that were supposed to appear in earlier chapters, were ‘probably scrapped’ from the game.

These include a city bus, a party van, and a Humvee, amongst others. So if you ever dreamed of driving any of these around Fortnite’s scenic map you’re in no luck this time.
