Fortnite is a game where just about anything can happen, as players can now swing around the Battle Island using Grapple Gloves like Spider-Man and kill an enemy with a lightsaber, all while playing as Goku. Or they can play as Darth Vader and use a Kamehameha attack on Naruto, and win the entire game. It goes without saying, but Fortnite has evolved into a completely different type of beast since its release.
And there are no signs of it stopping, with Fortnite rumors coming aplenty. Fans believe that there could be some Destiny 2, Doom, and/or The Lord of the Rings collabs in the coming weeks. The latter is because of a recreation of Helms Deep on the Island, as seen below. Now, it could be an Easter egg since Embracer Group is acquiring the IP rights to LOTR games, meaning it may just be that and nothing more, but that acquisition is going to take some time. And with The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power coming soon, there's not a better time for this potential crossover, and it would quickly lead to even more meme-worthy events.
Fortnite: Gandalf with a Gun

Tiktok video from bugha (@bugha): Bring it around was first added to the game in fortnite chapter 2 season 7. 😂 | duet this and show me how you “bring it around”.Carrying a lightsaber and a Kamehameha attack as The Lord of the Rings' Gandalf is something that could only happen in Fortnite, but what's just as wild if the game did add a Gandalf skin is that he'd be using guns. And instantly that brings the old Gandalf with a gun meme to mind. From a point of conception, it's an absolutely wild but fitting idea for the wildly popular battle royale game, and while one could argue that LOTR doesn't need it, younger audiences may navigate to the show if there is a crossover in Fortnite.
There are a lot of ways a Fortnite crossover with LOTR could go, but given the tease of Helm's Deep and Gandalf's role in that battle, it would make sense to see him get a skin and bundle in the game. Perhaps his glider could be based on Shadowfax, and perhaps there could even be an emote in direct honor of this meme, something unique to Gandalf that sees him look at a gun just like in the above image.
At this point, it's uncertain if this is going to happen, but for this meme's sake, it absolutely should. A few years ago, perhaps such a Fortnite crossover could have seemed unlikely—especially before it exploded on the battle royale scene—but nowadays it would not be a surprise.
Fortnite is available now on some Mobile devices, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
