Fortnite is one of the most critically and commercially successful video games of all time, and arguably the king of the Battle Royale genre. It’s a game that constantly evolves, and finds new ways to reinvent itself, cementing Fortnite as a game that is here to stay.
As Fortnite continues to add new content, they’ve managed to build relationships with companies like Warner Bros. and Disney to bring players' events and outfits to the game of our favorite franchises, like Marvel and DC. The game regularly adds brand-new collaborations, almost weekly at this point.
10 The Infinity Gauntlet LTM
The Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mode was released within Chapter 1, Season 4. It’s the very first collaboration that Fortnite did, and was a huge event to coincide with the release of Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War.
The game mode saw a mashup of Fortnite and Marvel, in which the Infinity Gauntlet would fall from the sky. All players had to rush to it, and the first one to grab it would become the Mad Titan, Thanos. Thanos had an array of powerful abilities, and all players had to take him down to claim victory, which was no easy task, but a fun one for both teams and fans hope the gamemode and Thanos return.
9 The Mandalorian

Within Chapter 2, Season 5 of Fortnite came a new season, one that was themed on hunters. One of those characters to release on day one of the new season was Star Wars’ very own titular character: The Mandalorian. Mando came as a skin in the battlepass, complete with a Baby Yoda backbling, and a quest to fully upgrade his Beskar armor.
As well as being an outfit, Mando was also a character on the map that could hunt players with his Amban Sniper Rifle, a Star Wars-themed weapon, and The Mandalorian’s Jetpack, both obtainable to the player through defeating Mando at his spawn location, The Razor Crest.
8 Ezio Auditore And Eivor Varinsdottir
In Chapter 3, Season 2, Epic Games partnered with Ubisoft to bring players two iconic characters from the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Players could open up the item shop and find the iconic Assassin with his trilogy, Ezio Auditore. They could also find the most recent Assassin to join the Ubisoft franchise family, Eivor Varinsdottir.
Players could obtain Ezio earlier than his appearance in the item shop if they purchased Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on the Epic Games Store. He came complete with his Hidden Blades as a pickaxe tool, making him a must-have for any fan of the franchise and Fortnite. More Ubisoft skins could feature in Fortniteif an acquisition is to be believed.
7 Deadpool
The Merc With a Mouth was the first collaboration character to be the secret battlepass skin. Deadpool was teased through Chapter 2, Season 2’s spy-themed season. He appeared in trailers, and each week something new would be added to the map. Like a famed pair of Deadpool underwear, or a new email in Deadpool’s room for players to read.
Deadpool was revealed in typical Deadpool fashion, being asked to report to the command center, and instead of using a magazine as toilet paper. As well as being the secret outfit to unlock, he appeared on the map on a Deadpool-themed yacht. Eliminating him would give players Deadpool’s Dual Hand Cannons.
6 Alien Vs Predator Vs Terminator
In the same season as The Mandalorian, Epic Games exploded with 80s fanfare. Iconic characters from fan-favorite franchises burst into Fortnite around the same time and all in Chapter 2, Season 5. All these characters had their iconic looks, showing just how much Epic Games truly cares about these collaborations, even if one did get leaked prematurely.
The Xenomorph from Alien, The Predator from Predator, and the T-800 Terminator from Terminator. All these outfits were in the game, and purchasable in the item shop, except for Predator, who was exclusive as the secret outfit for that season’s battlepass.
5 Rick And Morty
The popular Adult Swim franchise Rick and Morty let their green portal ooze onto the Fortnite scene in Chapter 2, Season 7 amongst its sci-fi alien invasion theme. Rick Sanchez was a tier 100 skin for that season’s battlepass, whereas Morty was in the item shop as Mecha Morty, having him wear a mech suit featured in season 1, episode 2 titled Lawnmower Dog.
Although this season didn’t feature any Rick and Morty-themed weapons, Rick Sanchez was a character that players could talk to, or fight on the map. He was part of the story, fighting with IO to stop the alien invasion, complete with Rick’s wit and remarks of superiority.
4 Kratos And Master Chief
Chapter 2, Season 5 was a big time for Fortnite and collaborations. Throughout the entire hunter season, new characters from existing franchises would burst onto the scene, taken by Fortnite’s Jonesy into the Fortnite world. Within this chapter came the Gaming Legends series, which featured Xbox’s iconic Master Chief from Halo, and PlayStation’s iconic Kratos from God of War.
These two characters were purchasable in the item shop. Kratos and Master Chief got their trailers to hype fans of Fortnite up to purchase them. The detail in their design is impeccable, and the console exclusive characters would receive exclusive styles based on where you purchased them.
3 Batman: Zero Point
This wouldn’t be the first time that Fortnite has integrated itself into the comic canon, but it would be the first for DC Comics. DC and Epic Games collaborated to bring players and readers Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point. A six-issue miniseries that would tie into events that occurred both in-game and in DC’s continuity.
If players purchased each issue of the comic, they would be given a code to put into Fortnite that would grant them DC Comics-themed items and outfits centered around the story. This ranged from DC Rebirth’s Harley Quinn, Zero Point Catwoman, Deathstroke, and Zero Point Batman. Fans hope this won't be the last Batman skin in Fortnite.
2 Naruto X Fortnite
The beloved characters of the anime series Naruto Shippuden arrived in Fortnite with the release of Chapter 2, Season 8. This was an event long teased by Fortnite, with marketing appearing around Japan. The release of this outfit pack left the doors open for the potential of more anime legends skins, like JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.
The skins featured are Team 7’s favorites. Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Saukra Haruno, and Kakashi Hatake. Fortnite developed these skins with the anime look in mind, keeping the 2D art style intact when translating it into the 3D Fortnite space.
1 Marvel’s The Nexus War
With Fortnite’s Chapter 2, Season 4, came something entirely different. The entire season and battlepass were dedicated to a Marvel story, both canon to Fortnite and the Marvel continuity. It followed Thor and Galactus, who enter the Zero Point. Thor summons Marvel legends like Iron Man, She-Hulk, Wolverine, and many others to battle Galactus and save the Fortnite world.
The season includes a great deal of Marvel outfits that were released in the battlepass and the item shop. Marvel characters would also be on the map at Marvel-specific locations. Eliminating them would provide players with their powers, including Iron Man’s gauntlets that players could use to fly up, and shoot. This wouldn't be the first time Marvel entered the Fortnite world, and hopefully not the last.
