Yesterday we reported on the news that Rockstar was getting ready to announce something new. This comes after multiple sources claim to have the inside scoop of a possible new reveal set to take place “very soon”. However, it seems now that Rockstar might be revving up to reveal the Red Dead Redemption 2 Remaster during the Sony’s State of Play even tonight.
Sony is set to host its State of Play live stream at 00:00 tomorrow morning (3 pm PT) and the 30-minute stream will play host to a number of reveals. While Sony has confirmed that the company will focus on PS VR2 announcements, it also confirmed the stream would host first and third-party game updates.
Given Sony’s relationship with Rockstar Games, the State of Play seems like the more plausible place for the developer to shove a Red Dead Redemption 2 Remaster trailer into.
The news comes from insider Chris Klipper who confirmed that “things are moving” at Rockstar pretty fast. He was also a source that initially teased the Rockstar announcement but last night he posted a tweet saying that a Red Dead Redemption 2 Remaster reveal is probably the reveal.

Of course, take this with a pinch of salt for now but this is not the first time we have heard about a Red Dead Redemption 2 Remaster being in the works at Rockstar. Late last year, multiple sources claimed that Rockstar was working on an RDR2 Remaster alongside a new Bully game. The company also confirmed GTA VI is currently in development too. With the State of Play a mere few hours away, we can only hope this news isn’t a load of crap.
I would totally replay Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS5 if it got some visual treatment in a remaster. We will most likely have to purchase the game again but hey. Rockstar will be Rockstar.
