A snippet of dialogue has some Fortnite fans guessing that The Vision could be joining his fellow Avengers as a guest character skin in the future.
A recently uncovered voice line suggests that The Vision could be the next Marvel Comics character to be featured as a playable character skin in Fortnite. This isn't the first time that gamers will see The Vision in a game. The Vision has also been featured in a small handful of Marvel-based video games over the years, with his most recent appearance being in 2019’s Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order.
Marvel has lent several of its most iconic and relevant characters to Fortnite over the years, to the point where some players are starting to grow weary of Epic adding too many comic book heroes and villains to its roster of character skins. The most recent wave of Marvel Fortnite guest characters started with the ever-popular Spider-Man at the beginning of Season 3, bringing with him his trusty web-shooters and a swinging mechanic that many players feel is actually superior to the ones featured in games like Marvel’s Avengers. His insane arch-nemesis the Green Goblin would come to Fornite in short order, followed by Doctor Strange and The Prowler as part of Fortnite’s new Season 3 Chapter 2 content. Fortnite’s upcoming Marvel comic book crossover has some fans guessing that the tech-savvy Princess Shuri could be joining them, and even more leaks have claimed that Miles Morales could be swinging into Fortnite as well.
Now, a seemingly random line of dialogue uncovered by Twitter user and Fornite news seeker ShiinaBR hints that The Vision could be entering the multiplayer battle royale fray as well. Apparently, if a player speaks to the Metal Team Leader NPC with a Doctor Strange skin equipped, she will ask about Strange’s “Synthezoid friend,” an apparent reference to The Vision. While nothing official has been confirmed or even suggested by Epic at this time, some fans are starting to wonder if this line is a hint at future character skins based on The Vision or even his longtime love interest The Scarlet Witch.
While Marvel has been seeing the lion’s share of guest appearances in Fortnite as of late, there have been plenty of character skins based on gaming characters like Aloy of Horizon Forbidden West, Ezio Auditore from the earlier Assassin’s Creed games, and Kratos of God Of War fame. Other Fortnite crossovers have included characters from popular TV shows like Rick And Morty, fellow comic book publisher DC Comics, and even real-life celebrities like Ariana Grande and Lebron James. Fortnite's resident super-solider The Foundation would ultimately pull back his helmet to reveal the face and voice of famed wrestler-turned-Hollywood mega-star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and he is currently set to join forces with the X-Men in the aforementioned Fortnite/Marvel crossover comic.
Regardless of how one feels about Fortnite’s abundance of characters from Marvel and DC, there’s no denying that these crossover skins are quite popular among the game’s fanbase. If a seemingly throwaway line from the Metal Team Leader is of any indication, The Vision might just be the next Marvel hero to save the day in Fortnite.
